About
Shah Jahan built this white marble tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It stands on a 95 m square plinth between four minarets and looks south down its garden. The model shows the tomb on its plinth, on a square cut from the red sandstone riverfront terrace, with the Yamuna to the north and the end of the long canal and its cypresses to the south.
